1st post messy

Well. Here we are. On the first post of my 1 millionth blog to begin. Here's to hoping this is the one I quit worrying about being lame and just write.

Tomorrow will mark two weeks in my new home. It's quite a cool place.
It has places like this to go for a quick swim.

So one of our friends who are elsewhere for the summer created a packet for my housemates and I to complete while they are gone. Every morning one of the other girls goes to their house to feed their cats (yuk.) and picks up an envelope with our daily "holiday" and task. This has been so fun to me. It was so well planned and produced for us. We are well loved by our friends.

National Sunglasses Day
We have been gifted with so much awesome.

A large portion of my time here is spent in language lessons with my teacher. We'll call her Pearl. Pearl made me start conjugations in the present tense this week and laughed at all the faces I made at her. So Pearl asked me and my roommates to come to a festival downtown that she helped organize. Little did we know we were expected to be a part of a mini parade group. Somehow with a group of children, some international students and a few locals we walked through the streets of our city. It was a lot of fun. Later some horses came in from another area. Despite being at least four feet away from them at all times I of course had an allergic reaction.
Asthma inducing horsey
traditional instrument player

I'm not sure which country these guys represented,
but they looked like they were playing our traditional instruments.

nothing quite as funny as a group of students from
a lot of different countries yelling and jumping up to dance to "Gangnam Style"

We went over to a friends house after and I popped a Benadryl to keep from dying and all. We tried to play Phase 10 as I steadily drifted into the coma that is inevitable when I have to take the pink stuff. The winner made it to round 7 before we all gave up.

All the pictures on the blog are from the camera my mom got me right before we left. All photos were taken in in auto mode because I have absolutely no idea how to use the camera properly. Sorry 'bout it.
